Welcome to St Thomas à Becket, Warblington & St James, Emsworth, Church of England website. Our prayer is that in joining our church community
you may grow closer to God,
find friendship and healing,
and be strengthened to serve God in the world.
Running Free Magazine
We have all-age worship together in the church with some more modern worship songs, ‘what’s in the box’ to introduce our theme and a service aimed at being inclusive for all ages.
Over in the hall, let the smell of bacon drifting down the road lead you to our breakfast church. This is less formal as we have some breakfast together round tables as we gather for more contemporary style worship, and there is a group for young people down in the office while we have a short talk and discussion. There is a play area for toddlers and you don’t need to be worried about kids joining in as noisily as they like, we provide the instruments!
3rd & 4th Sundays
On these weeks we start in the church for the 1st hymn then head over to the hall with primary aged children (& younger ones if accompanied by a parent/carer!)
3rd Sundays is Bible2go – where the story is recreated in lego!
4th Sundays we sing chat and pray over a snack.
Where there are 5 Sundays we make it up as we go along… but there is always something!
Creche – for little ones there is always a bag of toys and a warm room at the back of the church if you wish.
Friends of God (FROG) is aimed at those in Yr7-9 and is on a 3rd & 4th Sunday. They start in the church office (round the side of the hall) before the service starts and have drinks & snacks and think about a bible truth or topics suitable for this age group. It’s an informal fun-loving group who would always welcome new people to drop in and give it a go!
We ran a successful youth alpha group aimed at 15-18 year olds last term and now they continue to meet on a Sunday night at local leaders houses.
Babies, Biscuits & Banter
Baby group for newborns to just moving babies on between 9.30-11 on a Tuesday morning in the office.
